Gummy Candy Recipe

How to make the perfect pectin THC gummy candy.

I promise you this recipe is the real deal, no nonsense method for making THC-potent, flavored pectin gummy candy just like the commercial gummy candy you purchase in dispensaries.

You can make the perfect commercial-quality THC gummy candy just like this!

We don’t use gelatin which I personally avoid and is off limits for vegans and vegetarians. We use plant-based fruit pectin purchased in bulk from extractz.com (Powdered Fruit Pectin in Bulk). Grocery store pectin or Sure Jell, unfortunately is not suitable for our recipe. Sure Jell just doesn’t firm like the bulk pectin does. Bulk fruit pectin, in the correct ratios with sugar, makes a nice, stiff, chewy gummy. No sugar syrup needed!

I’ll show you how to make gummy candy with a cook time of only 30 minutes.

I’ll show you how to make gummy candy as you see in the photo above.

In the full recipe, which you can download below, I provide exact measurements, temperatures and times for how to make the perfect gummy candy. The recipe is also full of tips and suggestions including how to appropriately dose your candy with THC to the strength you desire.

It is ideal if your THC concentrate has been decarboxylated prior to being made into tincture, but it is not necessary. See this great article on the topic of decarboxylation for a full explanation.

Once you’ve gathered your equipment and measured your ingredients, it will only take 30 minutes from “flame on” to pouring the liquid into your molds.

Once poured, you will want to let the candy cool for approximately 1 hour before the candy is firm enough to be popped out of the molds. You may also want to refrigerate your candy in the molds after the 1 hour cool down period to increase the gummy stiffness.

Once popped out, the gummy candies are very sticky so you must dust the candies with something to prevent them from sticking together. Granulated sugar is commonly used for this purpose but powdered sugar or rice flower are also very effective.
